Biography

A towering second-row forward with genuine Test-match pedigree, Adam Coleman joined Union Bordeaux Begles in 2023 after a career that has taken him across the southern and northern hemispheres. Born on 7 October 1991, he won 38 caps for Australia, establishing himself as an aggressive, physically dominant lock at international level. He now represents Tonga, adding his power to the 'Ikale Tahi and continuing his Test career on the international stage. At UBB, Coleman provides set-piece stability and physical leadership, using his height and timing to be a disruptive presence at the lineout while bringing hard carries and abrasive work at the breakdown. His experience is as valuable as his physicality: years spent in high-pressure Test arenas have made him a calming, organising influence in the engine room of a French pack. Coleman thrives in the tight exchanges, relishing the collision-heavy work that defines forward play in the Top 14. For Bordeaux Begles he is both an enforcer and a mentor, the kind of seasoned campaigner whose presence steadies a side and whose lineout reliability gives them a dependable platform from which to build.
