Biography

Andro Dvali represents the next wave of Georgian forwards making their way through the French system. Born on 10 July 2005, the flanker is among the younger members of the US Arlequins Perpignanais squad, where he is steadily learning the demands of Top 14 rugby. Dvali is built around the physical hallmarks that define Georgian back-row play: aggressive defence, a high tackle workload and a willingness to throw himself into the contact areas that decide tight matches. Having come through age-grade representative rugby with Georgia, he carries a strong grounding in the national game's forward-dominant philosophy and is now applying it within Perpignan's environment. At this stage of his career the emphasis is on development, with set-piece contribution and breakdown technique areas he is expected to sharpen as he gains senior minutes. What is already clear is his competitiveness and physical appetite, qualities that give USAP a promising long-term option in the back row. For a young player adapting to one of Europe's most demanding leagues, Dvali's trajectory is one to watch.
