Anthony Rico

Anthony Rico is a young flanker associated with Lyon Olympique Universitaire, the Top 14 side based in France's second-largest city. Born in 2007, Rico is at an early stage of his development, progressing through the club's pathway structure. Lyon's academy has consistently produced players capable of stepping into France's highly competitive top division, and Rico forms part of the next wave of back-row talent moving through that system. His position demands the typical attributes of a modern flanker — a strong defensive work rate, contest at the breakdown, and physicality through the tackle — and he is building those elements of his game as he matures. At this stage of his career, much of his work sits in academy and development fixtures rather than regular senior appearances, a normal pathway for French-produced forwards. As one of several young loose forwards Lyon are nurturing, he represents part of the club's long-term investment in developing homegrown talent for senior Top 14 rugby down the line.
