Biography

Few wingers announced themselves on the international stage as emphatically as Aphiwe Dyantyi. Born on 26 August 1994, the South African flyer burst into the Springbok set-up in 2018, a breakthrough campaign that earned him the World Rugby Breakthrough Player of the Year award that same year. Blessed with searing acceleration, sharp footwork and a confident finishing instinct, Dyantyi built his reputation as an out-and-out try-scorer capable of turning half-chances into points. Now plying his trade with the Bulls, he brings genuine x-factor to the back three, stretching defences with his pace on the outside and offering a counter-attacking threat from deep. His experience at the highest level adds composure to the Pretoria-based side's attacking play, and he remains a dangerous operator whenever space opens up in the wide channels. For the Bulls, Dyantyi represents both a proven finisher and a senior presence among the outside backs in the United Rugby Championship.
