Biography
Archie McArthur has steadily worked his way into senior contention at Kingsholm, a back-rower who came through the Gloucester Rugby academy. Born on 11 June 2003, the flanker embodies the qualities that define a modern openside: a high work rate around the field, a willingness to compete at the breakdown and a physical edge in the tackle. His game is built on energy and persistence — the kind of player who chases lost causes, fills in across the back row and carries strongly in the loose. Having progressed through the club's pathway, he represents the homegrown talent Gloucester have long looked to develop, and his consistent application in age-grade rugby and training has pushed him towards first-team opportunities in the Gallagher Premiership. As he continues to mature physically, his capacity to influence the contact area and provide industry in defence makes him a useful and developing presence in the Cherry and Whites' forward pack.
