Biography
Born in France on 11 May 1998, Baptiste Heguy is a flanker for Top 14 club Aviron Bayonnais. A product of the Bayonne academy, he has built his senior career in the back row at his hometown club, where the rugby tradition runs deep through the Basque country. Heguy operates as a high-work-rate forward who contributes across the breakdown and in defence, the type of homegrown loose forward Bayonne have long relied on to set the tone in the loose. Standing alongside more senior internationals in the pack, he has earned regular involvement as Bayonne competed in the Top 14 and in European competition, with his ball-carrying in tight channels and presence in jackal contests becoming a familiar feature of matchday squads. At 27, Heguy sits in the prime years of a back-row career and remains an established figure within the Aviron Bayonnais pack, the kind of squad forward whose minutes accumulate quietly across a long season rather than headlining the highlight reels.
