Biography

Still in his teenage years, Baptiste Tilloles is a young back on the books of Aviron Bayonnais, the Basque side that competes in France's Top 14. Born on 19 November 2006, he sits firmly at the early-development end of the squad, building his senior rugby experience within one of French club rugby's most distinctive environments. Bayonne, based in the southwest of France close to the Spanish border, has long drawn from a deep regional player pool and built its identity around an aggressive, partisan home support at Stade Jean-Dauger. For a young back, the demands of the Top 14 are considerable — handling under defensive pressure, kicking accuracy, decision-making in broken field — and the club's coaching staff typically take a measured approach to integrating academy products into senior matchdays. Tilloles is part of that gradual pathway, balancing exposure to first-team training and rotation with the development work expected of a player still in his teens. The next stretch of his career will be shaped by the senior minutes he is able to accumulate in one of Europe's toughest domestic competitions.
