Biography
A product of Yarm School in North Yorkshire, Ben Stevenson combined his rugby development with academic study, completing a Law degree at Durham University in 2019 before pushing into the professional game. Born on 19 July 1998 and known in full as Benjamin Thomas Stevenson, the England-born wing is now contracted to Newcastle Red Bulls in Premiership Rugby, having graduated through the club's academy ranks.
The Durham pathway has long fed players into Premiership squads, and Stevenson made that transition into the senior set-up on Tyneside. As an outside back, his profile is built on pace and the high-volume work rate now demanded of Premiership wings - chasing kicks, contesting aerial possession and supporting through the middle of the field. He has featured across both wing and back-three positions for Newcastle, adding depth to a squad that has worked through an extended period of rebuild.
With his playing experience now spanning Premiership Rugby Cup and league fixtures, Stevenson sits among the homegrown players Newcastle have leaned on as they look to stabilise competitively. He remains based in the north-east, balancing his on-field commitments with the professional grounding gained during his time at Durham.
