Biography

Ben Tameifuna is a Tongan international tighthead prop whose career has blended Super Rugby, Top 14 and Test-match rugby. Born on 30 August 1991, he has become one of the most recognisable front-row forwards in the professional game thanks to his combination of huge frame, genuine scrum power and surprising athleticism. A formidable scrummager, Tameifuna's primary strength is generating dominance at the set-piece. His weight and low drive make him a difficult opponent for any loosehead, and in open play he carries hard into traffic and commits multiple defenders. That combination has made him a central figure in every pack he has played in. At Test level he has been a long-serving figure for Tonga, adding invaluable experience to the Pacific Island side across Rugby World Cup and Pacific Nations windows. His international career has spanned more than a decade. Tameifuna now plays his club rugby in France with Union Bordeaux Bègles, where he has been a cornerstone of the forward pack during the club's rise up the Top 14 table. He provides the experience, scrum stability and on-field aura that any serious title contender relies on in its front row.
