Biography

Welsh flanker Ben Warren was born on 2 April 2000 and is on the senior books at the Ospreys in the United Rugby Championship. Now in his mid-twenties, he is part of a Welsh regional system that has traditionally placed heavy emphasis on developing back-row forwards through its academies. The Ospreys' approach to back-row selection reflects the demands of the URC and European cup rugby: physical confrontation in collisions, the ability to compete for breakdown ball, and the workload to make tackles across the full 80 minutes. Warren's role within that group is shaped by those expectations. His Welsh qualification places him within the broader national talent pool, where regional performance remains the principal route into wider Wales selection conversations. As with other flankers at this stage of their careers, the priority is regular game time at senior level and the consistency of performance that builds a longer-term position in the matchday squad. He continues to compete for selection in a Welsh regional set-up that values combative loose-forward play.
