Biography
Wales-qualified and still early in his development, Caio James is a back-row forward on the books at Gloucester Rugby in the Gallagher Premiership. Born on 17 April 2006, he is one of the younger forwards in the Kingsholm setup and is rated as a prospect with genuine scope to progress in the English top flight. James plays with an emphasis on defensive disruption, looking to contest turnovers, tackle with intent and provide a robust carrying option when the opportunity arises. That blend of work rate and physicality marks him out as a developing loose forward suited to the demands of Premiership rugby. The priority at this stage of his career is to add the consistency and conditioning needed to bridge the gap between the youth pathway and the senior ranks. Gloucester have shown a willingness to invest in young forwards in recent seasons, and James will be hoping to convert his early promise into meaningful first-team minutes as his career develops in the West Country.
