Biography
Born on 2 February 2005, Campbell Ridl is one of the brighter young talents in Exeter Chiefs' back line. The Wales international operates across the back three, where his acceleration and willingness to chase down loose ball make him a constant threat in the wide channels. Ridl combines a natural finisher's instinct with a composed defensive game, comfortable under the high ball and dependable in the tackle. Still in the early stages of his senior career, he has the raw pace and footwork that mark out a wing or fullback capable of stretching opposition defences, and he is equally happy joining the line from deep to act as an extra attacker. Coaches value the energy he brings to both the kick-chase and the counter-attack, areas where his speed allows him to turn half-chances into territory. At Exeter he is being developed as a long-term attacking option, adding youthful dynamism and an international pedigree to a squad with ambitions of competing for honours in the Premiership and Europe. As he matures physically and adds consistency to his game, he looks well placed to push for a more regular role in the matchday side.
