Biography

Chandler Cunningham-South burst into the international picture with a force few young forwards manage. Born on 18 March 2003, the back-row forward made his England debut during the 2024 Six Nations, rewarding a string of commanding displays for Harlequins. He is best known for explosive ball-carrying, dominant tackling and a relentless presence at the breakdown, qualities that quickly marked him out as one of the most exciting prospects in English rugby. Operating primarily at blindside flanker, Cunningham-South offers his side immediate go-forward, regularly punching holes in defensive lines and providing the kind of physical edge that sets the tempo for a forward pack. His combination of size, athleticism and youth has made him a genuine game-changer, capable of shifting momentum with a single carry or turnover. For Harlequins he has become a cornerstone of the pack, while at Test level he is viewed as a long-term option in England's back row. As he continues to add detail to his game, Cunningham-South looks set to remain a central figure in both club and international rugby for years to come.
