Biography
Among the brighter half-back prospects to emerge from the Saracens academy, Charlie Bracken is a scrum-half whose game is built on tempo and precision. England-qualified and born on 9 December 2003, he plays with the sharpness the position demands: a quick, accurate pass, an intelligent kicking game and a readiness to snipe around the fringes of the breakdown. Bracken has climbed through the age-grade ranks and earned recognition with England at Under-20 level, a marker of the potential that has set him apart at a club long renowned for producing international talent. At Saracens he fills the role of an ambitious understudy, sharpening his craft behind and alongside seasoned internationals within a deep and demanding half-back unit. His senior career remains in its formative stages, with the bulk of his story still to be written, but the building blocks — game management, distribution speed and a competitive streak — point to a player being groomed for greater responsibility. For now, Bracken represents one of the more promising pieces in Saracens' long-term planning at number nine.
