Chay Fihaki

Biography
Few backs in the Crusaders' squad offer the positional flexibility of Chay Fihaki. Born on 3 January 2001, the outside back has built his game around pace, sharp footwork and an ability to slot in across fullback, wing and midfield. That versatility makes him a useful asset in the depth of a Super Rugby Pacific roster as demanding as the Crusaders'. Fihaki is comfortable taking the ball to the line, beating defenders in broken play and chasing hard in the air, while a dependable kicking game gives his coaches an additional option from the tee. Defensively he is willing and positionally sound, qualities that help him cover multiple roles without weakening the backline. At 25, he sits in the productive middle phase of his career, still competing for regular starting minutes in one of the most contested backline units in the southern hemisphere. His blend of attacking spark and reliability under pressure keeps him firmly in the frame whenever the Crusaders reshuffle their outside backs.
