Christ Tshiunza

Christ Tshiunza is a Wales international back-row forward born on 9 January 2002 in Kinshasa, Democratic Republic of the Congo. Raised in Cardiff after moving to Wales as a child, he came through the Whitchurch High School pathway — the same school that produced Sam Warburton, Gareth Bale and George North — before joining Exeter Chiefs, where he plays his club rugby in the Gallagher Premiership. Tshiunza made his Wales debut in November 2021 against Fiji, becoming one of the youngest forwards capped by his adopted country in recent seasons. At 6ft 6in he carries the lineout utility of a second row with the mobility of a flanker, giving Welsh head coaches a genuine dual option in the back five. He has been involved in Six Nations squads since his debut and was part of Wales's wider planning around the 2023 Rugby World Cup cycle in France. His combination of athleticism, ball-handling and aerial work makes him one of the more promising young forwards in the Welsh system.
