Biography
A product of the modern back-row mould, Christian Everitt is a flanker who joined Union Bordeaux Bègles to add depth and energy to the club's loose forwards. Born on 10 March 2005, he is among the younger members of the squad and represents part of the next generation pushing for game time in the Top 14. Everitt's game is built on a high work rate, with much of his value coming at the breakdown, where he competes for turnover ball and looks to slow opposition possession. Defensively he is willing in the tackle and reads the contact area well, traits that make him a useful contributor when the contest for the ball is at its most intense. As a young flanker still establishing himself at senior level, his focus is on adding consistency and physical conditioning to match the demands of professional rugby. At Bordeaux Bègles he provides competition and cover in the back row, an environment in which his appetite for the unglamorous work of the breakdown and the defensive line can develop. With time and opportunity, Everitt has the raw attributes — work rate, tackle technique and a nose for the contest — to grow into a regular squad option.
