Biography

Clément Laporte is a Top 14 back who has built a solid professional career across several of France's leading clubs. Born on 7 January 1998 in Pessac, he came through the academies of Bordeaux-Bègles and Agen before making his Top 14 debut for Agen in 2017. Spells at Lyon followed, and since 2022 he has been part of the squad at Section Paloise in Pau. Laporte operates primarily at fullback, where his positional sense, aerial ability and reliable boot make him a steady presence at the back, and he can also cover the wing. His standout representative honour came in 2018, when he was part of the France side that won the World Rugby U20 Championship, having earned seven caps at under-20 level. He has also represented the French Barbarians on two occasions. With more than a hundred senior club appearances to his name, Laporte brings experience and dependability to the Pau back three, even if a senior international cap has so far eluded him. A dependable option in the back field, he continues to provide tactical control and defensive coverage for his side, drawing on the well-rounded game he has honed over several seasons in the French top flight.
