Biography

Dane Blacker is a Welsh scrum-half who returned to the Scarlets in 2025 for a second spell with the Llanelli-based region. Born on 6 July 1998, he developed through Pontypridd and the Cardiff academy before first joining the Scarlets in 2019. After several seasons in west Wales he moved to the Dragons in 2023, where he gained further regional experience, before heading back to the Scarlets for the 2025-26 campaign. A lively, attacking number nine, Blacker is known for his quick service from the base of the ruck and his willingness to snipe and threaten around the fringes. During his first stint at the Scarlets he was among the side's leading try-scorers, underlining the attacking instinct he brings to the position. He has represented Wales at under-20 level and was named in a senior Wales matchday squad in 2022, though he is yet to win a full Test cap. Back at the Scarlets, he offers tempo, sharp distribution and continuity as a key figure in the region's halfback rotation.
