Biography

Welsh flanker Daniel Davis represents the Scarlets in the United Rugby Championship, having been born on 17 September 1998. The Llanelli-based region has long been associated with developing Welsh forwards through a clear academy and senior pathway, and the Scarlets' back row has consistently combined experienced internationals with players progressing through the regional system. The flanker role at URC level is defined by tackle volume, contest at the breakdown and the conditioning required to meet the physical demands of the competition's varied weekly assignments. The URC's mix of Welsh derby fixtures and Irish, South African and Italian opposition offers one of the more demanding proving grounds for back-row forwards in the northern hemisphere, and senior flankers within the Scarlets setup are measured against those week-to-week demands. Parc y Scarlets has historically built its identity around a fast, ball-in-hand attacking game, and the senior pack is asked to support that approach with mobility and work rate across the field. For Davis, the focus is on contributing to the depth of the Scarlets' back-row rotation, sustaining his work rate across senior URC matchday opportunities and continuing to deliver the defensive industry required of the role within the regional setup.
