Biography

A long-serving tighthead in the Welsh front-row picture, Dillon Lewis has built his international career on the technical scrum work and mobility that define the modern prop. Born on 4 January 1996, he made his Wales debut in 2017 and has since accumulated a significant body of Test-match rugby across successive Six Nations and World Cup cycles. Lewis's game combines powerful set-piece detail with an active profile in the loose. He is a disciplined scrummager with a stable base, able to hold his body position under heavy load and give his hookers a reliable platform, while moving well enough for a front-row forward to contribute carries and defensive involvements through wider channels. His Wales career has taken him through the full range of elite front-row challenges, including Six Nations campaigns and selection for the 2021 British and Irish Lions tour to South Africa. That Lions involvement placed him alongside the best props in the British and Irish game and underlined the standing he had built in the Welsh scrum. At club level, his career has spanned senior roles in both Welsh and English rugby, and he continues to offer his side a technically reliable tighthead option. Lewis remains one of the more experienced scrum voices in the Welsh front-row picture and a consistent performer across the long demands of a club and international calendar.
