Ethan Dumortier

Born on 29 December 2000, Ethan Dumortier has established himself as one of the more incisive wingers in French rugby during his time with Lyon Olympique Universitaire. A specialist finisher, he combines genuine pace with intelligent support running and a composed touch close to the line. Dumortier rose to prominence during the 2022/23 Top 14 campaign, a breakout season that established him as one of the competition's most productive try-scorers and earned him international recognition with France. For Lyon he functions as a primary attacking outlet on the wing, stretching defences with his speed and arriving on the shoulder of his playmakers to convert opportunities. His finishing instinct, work ethic off the ball and willingness to chase and contest kicks make him a consistent threat in the wide channels. Still rounding out the defensive and aerial sides of his game, Dumortier remains a key part of Lyon's back three and one of the more exciting young outside backs in the French game.
