Evan Minto

Emerging from the Dragons academy, Evan Minto is a young flanker tipped as one of the region's promising back-row talents. Born on 21 February 2006, the Welshman has progressed through the Newport-based side's development pathway and pushed into the senior reckoning. Minto is known for a high work rate, a strong defensive presence and his effectiveness over the ball at the breakdown, where he looks to slow opposition possession and force turnovers. He acts as a vital link between the forwards and backs, combining the abrasive duties of a flanker with the mobility to support play across the field. Still in the formative stage of his career, he represents part of a new generation the Dragons are building around. As he gains experience in the United Rugby Championship and European competition, Minto will aim to cement a regular place in the pack and develop the consistency required at the professional level. His tenacity at the ruck and willingness to do the hard, unseen work mark him out as a flanker with genuine potential.
