Biography
Flynn Longstaff is a forward in the Ulster Rugby system, contributing to one of the four Irish provinces competing in the United Rugby Championship. A loose forward by trade, he offers the physical, hard-grafting profile that provincial packs rely on, with robust carrying and a strong defensive work rate among his core attributes. Longstaff is the type of player who does the unseen work that keeps a forward pack ticking: hitting rucks, making his tackles and providing ballast in the tight exchanges. His versatility across the back five of the scrum adds to his value, giving the coaching staff flexibility in how they structure their forwards. As a squad forward, his role centres on adding depth, physicality and reliability, whether starting or making an impact from the bench. Ulster have long placed emphasis on developing home-grown forward talent, and Longstaff fits the mould of a committed, team-first player intent on earning his opportunities through consistent effort. With continued development of his game and physical conditioning, he aims to cement his place in the provincial set-up and contribute to Ulster's campaigns in both URC and European competition.
