Biography

Giacomo Milano is an Italian openside flanker on the books at Zebre Rugby, a player whose game thrives on energy and disruption. Born on 4 April 2005, he is among the emerging forwards in the Parma-based side. Milano's calling card is his defensive work rate, paired with a sharp instinct at the breakdown, where he competes for turnover ball and looks to slow opposition momentum. As an openside he lives in the heart of the contact area, combining physicality in the tackle with the speed to be first to the ruck. He contributes in open play and around the set-piece alike, adding to Zebre's efforts in the United Rugby Championship. Having come through the Italian pathway, Milano is part of the next wave of forwards the national system is keen to develop, and his role with Zebre is to inject intensity and turnover threat into the back row. Those qualities suit the demands of the modern game, and with further experience his blend of work rate, physicality and breakdown ability gives him a solid foundation on which to build a professional career.
