Giani Callegari

Giani Callegari is among the youngest forwards on the books at US Arlequins Perpignanais (USAP). Born on 25 November 2006, he is a back-row prospect developing through the Perpignan club's pathway, where his physical, competitive style suits the demands of the flank. Callegari's game is built on a high work rate at the breakdown, strong tackling and a willingness to compete for turnover ball, the bread-and-butter duties that define a modern flanker. His role is to act as a link between the forwards and backs, arrive at rucks with purpose and add defensive steel around the field. As with most young loose forwards, the priority at this stage is physical development and learning the finer points of the breakdown contest. He is focused on translating his raw attributes into the consistency required at senior level, and he represents part of the emerging crop of young forwards coming through the ranks at USAP.
