Giorgi Khaindrava

Giorgi Khaindrava, born on 22 February 2005, is a Georgian centre on the books of French side Aviron Bayonnais. A robust midfielder in the mould favoured by Georgian rugby, he is valued for his direct ball-carrying, physical presence in defence and willingness to take contact to gain front-foot ball. At Bayonne he is part of a competitive Top 14 environment that has aided his development as a young professional. Khaindrava's combination of size and aggression makes him an effective option in midfield, capable of denting defensive lines and providing go-forward for his playmakers. One of a number of emerging Georgian talents plying their trade in France, he represents the growing pipeline of players from the country building careers in Europe's top competitions.
