Biography
Giorgi Tetrashvili embodies the front-row tradition that has become Georgia's calling card in European rugby. Born in Tbilisi on 31 August 1993, he is a prop, typically operating at loosehead, whose powerful, low-slung frame is built for the set-piece battle. After developing his game in France with SU Agen, where he made well over a hundred appearances between 2015 and 2021, he joined Top 14 club US Arlequins Perpignanais in 2021.
At Perpignan, Tetrashvili provides scrummaging stability and the abrasive physicality that Georgian forwards are renowned for, both in the tight exchanges and in the loose. He has also represented Georgia at international level, adding Test experience to the depth of the USAP front row. A dependable presence rather than a flashy one, he is the kind of grafting forward a Top 14 side relies upon to hold firm at scrum time and shoulder the unglamorous workload of forward play across a demanding French season.
