Biography
Few back-row forwards move quite like Hacjivah Dayimani. Born on 23 September 1997, the South African flanker has built his reputation on rare pace and athleticism for a loose forward, often operating almost as an auxiliary centre to break the defensive line. He was part of the Stormers squad that won the inaugural United Rugby Championship title in 2022 before taking his explosive ball-carrying and link play to Racing 92 in France. At his best in open, fast-paced rugby, Dayimani offers width and dynamism that few forwards can match, giving his side a genuine attacking weapon in the loose. His footwork and acceleration allow him to make ground in space where bigger forwards cannot, and his offloading game helps keep attacks alive. While his strengths lie in attack, his energy and mobility also make him a willing defender who covers plenty of ground. He remains one of the more distinctive and entertaining forwards in the European game.
