Biography

Welsh back Harri Wilde, born on 15 May 2005, is part of the playing group at Cardiff Rugby, one of the four professional regions in Welsh club rugby. A product of the Welsh development pathway, he has progressed through the regional system that feeds talent toward the senior United Rugby Championship squad. As an outside back he is valued for speed, footwork and the ability to create in broken field — the qualities coaches look for when trusting young players with attacking responsibility. His game is built around finishing chances out wide and contributing in the counter-attack, while continuing to add the defensive and aerial elements required at senior level. Cardiff's environment offers Wilde regular contact with experienced professionals and an established URC programme, which shape the detail of his game. At this stage of his career he is building minutes and experience, with the longer-term ambition of establishing himself as a regular selection in the senior Cardiff back line.
