Biography
A powerful and athletic lock, Hugh Tizard has developed into a key figure in the Saracens second row since his arrival at the club. Born on 31 March 2000, he came through the Harlequins system before his move to Saracens, where his set-piece work and carrying ability have earned him regular starts. Tizard's game is built around the fundamentals expected of a modern top-four forward: a reliable lineout jumper and option, a strong scrummager capable of holding his role in a senior English pack, and a willing contributor in the carry and collision work that increasingly defines Premiership forward play. At just over two metres tall, he presents a genuine aerial threat at both defensive and attacking lineouts, while his mobility allows him to cover significant ground in defensive shape. His performances for Saracens have drawn attention at national level, with England recognition following his club form. Tizard remains in the early stages of what the club hopes will be a long senior career, with coaches highlighting his willingness to shoulder the unglamorous work in the engine room as a marker of his long-term ceiling.
