Biography

Hugo Pichardie is a Spanish centre developing within the celebrated academy of Stade Toulousain, the most successful club in French rugby. Born on 10 January 2005, he joined the Toulouse set-up in 2021 and has progressed through the club's youth and Espoirs ranks, with midfield his primary position. Raised largely in Spain, where he played his early rugby with Alcobendas, Pichardie has represented his country at youth level across both the fifteen-a-side and sevens formats, and featured for Spain at the World Rugby U20 Championship, including a notable win over Fiji. At club level he has tasted success in Toulouse's age-grade competitions, contributing to title-winning campaigns that underline the strength of the famed academy around him. As a centre, his game is built on athleticism and an appetite for work, attributes that fit the expansive style Toulouse have long been known for. Pichardie has yet to break into the senior Top 14 side, but his international youth pedigree and his place within one of European rugby's elite development systems mark him as a prospect worth watching. The challenge now is to convert his promise into first-team opportunities at a club where competition for places is fierce.
