Biography
A graduate of the USAP youth system, Hugo Reus is a French fly-half developing within the Perpignan club structure. Born on 21 February 2004, he has progressed through the age-grade ranks into the Espoirs setup, where young playmakers are groomed for the step up to Top 14 rugby.
As a number ten, Reus's game is built on game management and distribution. He is tasked with orchestrating the attack, controlling territory through his kicking, and providing the calm decision-making that the position demands. A reliable boot and composure under pressure are qualities a fly-half must develop early, and they form the core of his profile as a prospect.
At 22, his focus is firmly on development — accumulating minutes for the club's second string, sharpening his tactical kicking, and pressing his case for senior consideration. The pathway from the Espoirs to the first team is a demanding one in the French system, and Reus's progress will be measured by how he adapts his control and game understanding to the intensity of professional rugby.
For USAP, he represents a home-grown playmaking option emerging from the academy pipeline.
