Biography
A product of the Queensland Reds system and a Test regular for the Wallabies, Hunter Paisami has built his reputation as one of Super Rugby's most uncompromising midfield defenders. Born on 10 April 1998, the inside centre combines a low, aggressive tackling technique with the ball-carrying power to dent defensive lines and set front-foot ball for those outside him. Paisami made his international debut for Australia in 2020 and was a key figure in the Reds' Super Rugby AU title triumph in 2021, anchoring the midfield with the physical edge that has become his trademark. Representing his country at the highest level, he offers his coaches a genuine collision presence at twelve, a player who relishes the responsibility of organising the inside channels and shutting down opposition attacking shape. While his work without the ball draws the most attention, Paisami is also a capable distributor and a reliable option in the wider attacking picture. Now an established figure in Australian rugby, he remains central to both club and country's plans in the centres.
