Biography
A long-serving member of the Bristol Bears pack, Jake Woolmore is a loosehead prop whose career at Ashton Gate has made him one of the more familiar faces in the Premiership front row. Born on 7 December 1990, he joined the club as a rising senior and has grown into one of its most experienced forwards.
Woolmore's game is anchored in scrum technique. He is a disciplined loosehead with a strong understanding of the set-piece battle, holding his shape under pressure and giving his hookers and locks a stable platform from which to work. Around the field he is a willing carrier into the close channels and a reliable defender, covering the unspectacular but essential forward duties across the 80 minutes.
His time at Bristol has tracked the club's growth into a Premiership and European force, and he has contributed to squads competing in major knockout stages of domestic and European rugby. That arc has given him deep familiarity with the demands of modern top-flight campaigns.
As a senior front-row figure, Woolmore offers the Bears dependable set-piece experience and provides a trusted rotation option across a long season. He has also become a valuable mentor for the younger front-row prospects working their way through the Bristol system toward senior opportunities.
