Biography
A seasoned front-row forward, Jamal Ford-Robinson has built a well-travelled career in the English game and lines up as a tighthead prop for Gloucester Rugby, where he has been a squad member since 2019. Born on 11 September 1993, he arrived at Kingsholm after earlier spells that included Northampton Saints and the Cornish Pirates, gathering the kind of scrummaging experience that makes a useful operator in the Premiership front row.
Ford-Robinson's game is built on the core tighthead virtues: a stable, technical scrum, work rate around the field and physicality in contact. Props of his profile are valued for the reliability they bring to the set-piece and for the depth they provide across a long, attritional season.
His most notable honour came in the 2023-24 season, when he was part of the Gloucester side that won the Premiership Rugby Cup, coming off the bench in the final, a campaign in which the club also reached the final of the EPCR Challenge Cup. At international level, Ford-Robinson has been on the fringes of the England set-up, named in a non-capped England matchday squad against the Barbarians in 2017, but he has not won a full senior Test cap. He remains a dependable squad option for Gloucester in one of the most demanding positions in the game.
