Biography
A graduate of the celebrated Leinster academy, James Culhane has marked himself out as one of the province's promising young back-row forwards. Born on 22 October 2002, the Irish flanker was part of the Ireland Under-20 side that swept to a Six Nations Grand Slam in 2022, and he has since earned senior recognition at Leinster. Culhane's game is built on a strong work rate, real strength at the breakdown and powerful ball-carrying that allows him to get a team on the front foot. He profiles as a modern, versatile loose forward, comfortable filling more than one role across the back row and adding considerable physicality and depth to a famously competitive squad. In a Leinster environment that demands high standards in every facet of play, Culhane has shown the discipline and athleticism to compete for game time among a wealth of international forwards. As he continues to accumulate appearances, he represents another product of the province's production line with the tools to push for a sustained first-team role.
