James Humphreys

The son of former Ireland international David Humphreys, James Humphreys is a fly-half working to make his own mark with Ulster. Born on 4 November 2001, he spent part of his formative years in the Gloucester underage system in England before progressing through the Ulster pathway from academy to senior level, signing a new deal that keeps him at the province into the 2026/27 season. Humphreys earned recognition at Ireland Under-20 level, adding age-grade experience to a developing game built around sharp tactical kicking and calm game management. Operating at No. 10, his role is to provide depth and control the tempo when called upon, steering the back line and managing territory in the manner expected of an organising fly-half.
