Jared Africa

South African back Jared Africa, born 28 March 2003, is on the Stormers' developmental roster. The Cape-based franchise has long invested in producing backs out of its junior pathway, and Africa is one of several younger players being integrated through the academy and wider-squad systems. As a back, his game asks him to contribute on both sides of the ball: making decisions under defensive pressure, finishing in space when chances open, and providing reliable cover in the back field. His pathway has been shaped by the Stormers' development structure, including age-grade Western Province sides and ongoing exposure to senior URC and European training environments. At twenty-three, he is at a stage where pushing into senior matchday squads becomes the immediate goal, with progression measured in starts and substitute appearances against URC opposition.
