Biography
Javan Sebastian is a Scotland-qualified tighthead prop whose senior career has taken him through the Welsh regions and into a settled role with Cardiff Rugby. Born on 27 September 1994, he has built his reputation on scrum reliability and the quiet, unglamorous work that defines modern front-row rugby.
Sebastian's game is centred on the set-piece. He is a disciplined scrummager with a stable base, holding his shape under load and prioritising the technical detail that allows his hookers and locks to operate from a solid platform. Around the field he adds dependable defensive carries and work-rate contributions across the tight five.
International recognition came when he earned selection for Scotland, and he marked his first start for the national side by scoring a try against Argentina in 2022. That moment underlined both his appetite for the work props inherit close to the line and the trust coaching staff placed in his core fundamentals at Test level.
At Cardiff he has become a trusted senior voice in the front row, offering the scrum experience a URC pack needs across a long season. His combination of set-piece consistency and collision willingness makes him a reliable rotation option and a steadying technical presence for younger tightheads still working through the region's pathway.
