Biography

At just a teenager, Jean Seux is among the young forwards developing within the ranks of US Montauban in France's second-tier Pro D2. Born on 31 July 2007, he is at the early stage of his career, learning his trade in the demanding environment of French forward play. Seux is a physical, hard-working forward whose role centres on the tight exchanges: providing stability at the set piece and putting in robust carries among the tight five. His game is defined by graft rather than glamour, the kind of unglamorous work — scrummaging, rucking, carrying into traffic — on which a forward pack depends. As a developing member of Montauban's broader playing group, he contributes depth and embodies the disciplined, forward-oriented approach long associated with French club rugby. Still building his physical maturity and experience, Seux represents one of the prospects coming through at the club, and the coming seasons will reveal how far his combative, no-frills approach can take him in the professional game.
