Joe Roberts

A young flanker on the books at Glasgow Warriors, Joe Roberts is one of the back-row prospects coming through at the United Rugby Championship club. Born on 4 August 2006, he is at an early stage of his senior career and is developing the core attributes of a modern loose forward: a willingness to compete at the breakdown, a strong tackling technique and the engine to cover ground in support play. As a flanker, Roberts is learning the demands of contesting for turnover ball, getting low over the contact area and providing the constant ruck presence that a back-rower must offer. His game is geared towards defensive work rate and ball-winning at the tackle, with the goal of becoming a disruptive influence around the field. Glasgow Warriors, who compete in the URC, have a track record of bringing young Scottish forwards through their pathway, and Roberts is part of that next wave.
