Biography

Jonathan Lee is a young back-row forward in the Crusaders' setup, one of the emerging loose forwards coming through at one of the most successful franchises in Super Rugby Pacific history. Born on 4 March 2004, Lee is a flanker whose game is defined by a relentless work rate and an appetite for the physical side of forward play. He looks to make his mark at the breakdown, hunt turnovers and bring explosive tackling in defence, while also offering a carrying option in the loose. Developing within the Crusaders' renowned forward-production environment, Lee is aiming to translate early promise into senior opportunities at a club that sets exacting standards. His role is the classic loose-forward brief: disrupt opposition ball, provide defensive steel and support play with and without the ball. As one of the squad's younger forwards, his focus is on physical maturity and consistency. Surrounded by experienced operators, Lee has an ideal environment in which to learn the craft and stake a claim for greater game time.
