Biography
Few players in the modern game offer the all-round utility of Jordie Barrett. Born on 9 May 1997, the New Zealand international is the youngest of the three Barrett brothers to wear the All Blacks jersey, and he has built a reputation as one of the most adaptable backs in world rugby. Comfortable at fullback, centre or on the wing, Barrett pairs an imposing physical frame with one of the longest and most reliable goal-kicking boots in the game. His distribution, aerial ability and composure under pressure make him equally valuable as a playmaker or a finisher. In 2024 he took the bold step of joining Leinster on a move to the northern hemisphere, bringing his powerful carrying game and tactical kicking to the United Rugby Championship and European competition. For both the All Blacks and his clubs, Barrett has consistently been a player coaches build a backline around - a versatile, big-game performer who thrives when the stakes are highest.
