Biography

Joris Segonds is a French fly-half whose game is built around tactical control and a dependable boot. Born in Decazeville on 6 April 1997, he learned his trade at Aurillac before joining Stade Français Paris in 2019, spending five seasons in the capital. In 2024 he moved south to sign for Aviron Bayonnais, adding experience to the Basque club's Top 14 fly-half options. A composed playmaker, Segonds is valued for his game management, kicking out of hand and goal-kicking from the tee — the core responsibilities of a number ten asked to steer his side around the field. His form earned international recognition when he was called into the France squad and won his first senior caps in 2025. At Bayonne he competes for the pivotal role at the heart of the backline, offering tactical organisation and points-scoring reliability to a team intent on holding its place in the French top flight.
