Biography
Joseph Laharrague is a young French fly-half on the books of Union Bordeaux-Bègles, where he came through the club's academy. Born in 2006 into a rugby family — his father, Julien Laharrague, won caps for France — he has been earmarked as a playmaking prospect for the future. He featured in the Bordeaux academy side that won the French Under-20 Championship in 2025 and made his Top 14 debut on 20 September 2025 against Montauban, marking the occasion with a try. To accelerate his development, he was loaned to Béziers for the 2025/26 season, with a longer-term move to the Pro D2 club reported thereafter. A composed distributor with a developing kicking game, Laharrague is learning the demands of directing a back line at senior level, where game management and decision-making are prized in a fly-half. As a teenager still establishing himself, he is yet to add senior international honours, and his immediate priority is regular game time to build experience. He is regarded as one of the more promising young No. 10s in the Bordeaux system.
