Biography

Ulster Rugby back-rower Josh Stevens, born 14 December 2004, is at the early stage of his senior career after progressing through the province's academy structure. Still in his first years out of the development pathway, he has been pushing for opportunities with Ulster's first-team squad in the United Rugby Championship, where the province is in a phase of refreshing its forward depth. Stevens is a physical, hard-running back-rower whose workrate around the field and willingness to compete at the breakdown have marked him out as one of the academy graduates worth tracking at Kingspan Stadium. Like most young loose forwards making the step into senior URC rugby, he is being introduced gradually, building experience alongside more established back-row names while the coaching staff manage his exposure across the season. The transition from academy to senior level brings sustained physical demands, and Stevens has shown the durability and aggression required to compete at provincial level. As Ulster look to develop the next wave of homegrown forward talent, he sits among the players the province is investing in to provide depth, competition and long-term squad value.
