Biography

Kirill Fraindt is a highly promising young forward who has joined the ranks at Stade Rochelais, one of the powerhouses of French and European club rugby. Born on 24 July 2006, the versatile second-row and back-five forward developed his early rugby in Russia with Enisei before furthering his education abroad and signing a contract with La Rochelle, where he is expected to feature primarily for the reserve side as he adapts to the demands of the professional game. Internationally, Fraindt has represented Russia at Under-20 level, an early marker of the potential that earned him a move to a club of La Rochelle's stature. His game is built around the physical fundamentals of forward play — work in the tight exchanges, presence at the breakdown and a willingness to take on the heavy collisions. At this stage his career is very much about development, and the experience of training alongside seasoned internationals in the La Rochelle environment represents an invaluable grounding. As he continues to grow physically and tactically, he remains an intriguing prospect for the seasons ahead.
