Biography
Luca Aurejac is a young French back-rower on the books at US Montauban, born 11 February 2007 and stepping into the senior environment of Pro D2 rugby at a notably early age. Pro D2 is a punishing competition for forwards — a long, physical season fought in cold, often rain-soaked stadiums against opponents whose packs are built for attritional rugby — and the development of an academy-aged flanker in that environment is shaped as much by exposure to senior collisions as by his technical training. Aurejac, still a teenager, sits within the Montauban setup at the earliest stage of that journey, working toward the kind of consistency that translates academy promise into regular Pro D2 minutes. The flanker position at this level asks for tackle-area workrate, line-speed in defence, and the durability to recover for the next phase. As his career develops, the markers to track will be how the club brings him through, the volume of senior minutes he accrues, and whether his progress earns him broader notice as he matures into the role.
