Biography
A product of the pathway at Stade Rochelais, Lucas Andjisseramatchi is a flanker coming through at one of the standout clubs in European rugby. Born on 12 April 2006, he is among the youngest forwards in the La Rochelle setup, developing at a club that has lifted back-to-back Champions Cup titles in 2022 and 2023 and become a fixture at the top of the French and European game. As a flanker, his role is rooted in the contact area: working the breakdown, putting in tackles and providing the link between forwards and backs that an effective openside is expected to deliver. For a teenager, the value of such an environment is considerable, offering the chance to learn alongside experienced internationals and to absorb the professional standards that define a leading club. La Rochelle's identity is built on a powerful, high-intensity forward game, and young back-rowers in the squad are schooled in that physical approach from the outset. At this stage of his career, Andjisseramatchi's focus is firmly on development, building the consistency, physicality and game understanding needed to press for senior opportunities in a competitive and well-stocked back row.
